ABOUT

Why Credled exists

I run PayPal Business Loans — a $1.5B+ annual origination business, with end-to-end ownership of product, credit risk, and commercial performance. Before that, I spent the better part of fourteen years inside SMB and consumer lending: building out PayPal's underwriting and open banking infrastructure, launching lending products into the UK, France, Germany, and the Netherlands, and running credit strategy through a full cycle of growth, a pandemic, and back.

Alongside that, I've been spending real hours studying how the Indian lending market actually works — reading the RBI's Digital Lending Directions the way I'd read a new market's regulatory framework, mapping Account Aggregator and OCEN against the open banking rails I helped build, and thinking through what India's credit bureau and co-lending landscape means for underwriting design. Credled is where that thinking gets written down, in public, so it can be checked.

What this is

Operator analysis on SMB and consumer lending, credit risk, and portfolio strategy — global in scope, increasingly India-focused. Three formats: long essays on the ideas I think matter, short notes reacting to reports and regulation, and a running look at origination data across the lenders worth watching.

What this isn't

Not general fintech news. Not product comparisons or recommendations. Not investment advice. This is one operator's specific, checkable thinking about how lending businesses are actually built and run.

Credled reflects my own views, formed independently. It does not represent the positions, strategy, or confidential information of PayPal or any other employer.
